Formed in January 2010, EcoLogic owns, manufactures and markets Eco-One™ brand of additives for plastic products worldwide. Eco-One™ is an organic additive that enhances the biodegradation of plastic products in a biologically active landfill (appropriate facilities are not available in all areas). Independent ASTM D5511 tests, representing biologically active landfills, have shown 5-15% biodegradation within 30 days. Eco-One™ is scientifically unique and validated for enhanced biodegradation.

    James J. Rooney
    President, EcoLogic LLC

    James Rooney takes the helm at EcoLogic with over 20 years of leadership experience in building global brands and guiding industry-leading companies. Mr. Rooney is an accomplished corporate strategist and marketer whose vision and expertise have driven notable enterprise growth in the paper, packaging and technology sectors.

    Over the past ten years, Mr. Rooney has held a number of senior executive positions and was most recently the Vice President of Marketing for Alcan Packaging, the largest business unit of Alcan with sales of over $850 million.

    James has been recognized for his success in growing sales and profits. His strategic approach to building businesses is reflected in numerous accomplishments at Alcan, International Paper, and ei3 Corporation.

    Mr. Rooney and his teams have successfully launched a number of highly successful products over the past ten years. While at Alcan Packaging, his teams delivered a company record for business unit sales and profit growth in 2009. He led the launch of ei3's EnergyWatch solution which received the EnergyStar Supplier Partner of the Year Award in 2004 from the U.S. Department of Energy. In 2005, James and the Scholle Packaging team launched the Sentry SafeLock Solution which was the company's most successful product initiative in 15 years.

    With a philosophy of focused growth and a disciplined approach to planning and execution, James has the ability to quickly identify and diagnose sales and growth impediments. He is adept at working with stakeholders to create unique value propositions that ensure sustainable growth for the company and the customer.

    James received his MBA from The Lake Forest Graduate School of Management and BBA from St. Norbert College. He has also completed an Executive Marketing Program at Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and the Advanced Leadership Program through Lancaster University in England.

    He serves on the Board of Directors of Easter Seals in Chicago and is involved in other charitable initiatives in the greater Chicago area.
    Sachin Shah Bio
    Vice President of Sales & Marketing
    Sachin Shah has spent his career in the packaging industry. With over 20 years of experience, he has held leadership positions in both the marketing and operations departments of some of the leading rigid and flexible packaging companies within the food and beverage sector.

    Most recently, Sachin was Director of Marketing for Alcan Packaging's $850 million food packaging business unit in North America. His ability to think strategically, create and execute sound business plans, and drive results by building and mentoring strong teams, resulted in significant business growth at Alcan. Under his leadership, the company launched FeatherWeight™, an environmentally friendly, low-cost plastic liner for bag-in-box cereals and crackers.

    On the operations side, Sachin significantly improved profitability and safety as Operations Manager for Alcan Packaging's plastic bottles business unit and at Portola Packaging, a proprietary manufacturer of tamper evident plastic closures.

    Born in Mumbai, India, Sachin has spent the last 20 years in the United States. After his undergraduate studies in India, he obtained his graduate degree in Polymer Engineering from the University of Akron in Ohio and an MBA from The Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.

    Duane H. Buelow
    Executive Vice President, Technology
    Duane Buelow has 22 years of leadership experience developing innovative new products and creating a world class R&D organization in the flexible packaging industry. Mr. Buelow is an accomplished strategic and innovative leader in the areas of research and new product development, innovation, sustainability, customer relationships and strategic marketing.

    Duane is recognized in the flexible packaging industry for successfully building and leading the top Research & Development and Innovation team in the industry. His strategic approach to new innovative technologies while grounding R&D teams in commercial reality has resulted in delivering superior results to the global commercial business units he has supported.

    For the last 15 years, Mr. Buelow has been a key executive at Alcan Packaging, and for more than the last 6 years he served as Vice President of R&D and Innovation including having responsibility for developing and implementing Alcan's overall sustainability strategy and global intellectual property roadmap.

    While overseeing a team of 80 professionals for a global business unit of $1.5 billion, Duane was responsible for orchestrating initiatives between technology, innovation, sales, marketing, and operations to ensure products remain best-in-class in terms of technology, process, cost performance and quality. His ability to be both a technical and business strategist led to the R&D team being awarded Top Innovative Supplier from Alcan's top six customers, and resulted in the company obtaining record business unit sales and profit in 2009.

    During his tenure, Mr. Buelow and his teams launched a number of highly successful products. Of particular note was the Alcan ClearShield bone-in fresh meat shrink. Duane led the cross-functional team which delivered the product in 2004. At the time, it was named the most innovative new product and process technology in the flexible industry in 20 years.

    Duane received a BS degree in Chemistry from University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He completed a number of global executive leadership programs while at Alcan Packaging, and has extensive training in innovation methods and processes. Duane has a number of patents to his credit and has also achieved 6-sigma green belt Continuous Improvement certification.

    Galen M. Killam
    Director of National Accounts
    With over 13 years of direct experience, Galen Killam is considered an expert in the flexible packaging field. As a results-oriented leader with expertise in both the technical and business aspects of the industry, he has analyzed both external and internal corporate financial performances as well as corporate product portfolios.

    Mr. Killam most recently served as Manager Product Development for Alcan Plastic Packaging in Neenah, Wisconsin. There he led the Specialty and Food product development team and was responsible for the blown film development within Alcan. He developed new structures with 7 layer blown film and extrusion lamination technologies and was the leader of the resin simplification and standardization team which reduced the complexity of Alcan extrusion technologies.

    As a business developer, Galen oversaw the analysis and financial justification for numerous acquisitions totaling over $100mm. He led business units in the development and implementation of their bi-annual strategy and made recommendations on the feasibility of entry into select global and domestic markets.

    As a product development engineer, Mr. Killam analyzed, developed and commercialized new flexible packaging films to meet customer demands. His efforts resulted in new business opportunities in the beverage market ($6mm-$10mm in new sales) and developed a portfolio of films upon which Alcan built $2mm to $3mm in new market annual sales.

    He received a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and earned an MBA in Business Management from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

    In addition to his work, Galen is a licensed pilot and NCAA football referee.
